CEE 405- Asphalt Materials

Asphalt concrete mixtures surface more than 90% of paved roads in the United States. This course focuses on introducing the fundamental properties of asphalt binders and mixtures and then the methods for testing them. This class includes a lab component and a comprehensive design project. In my first semester teaching this course during Fall 2020, I was honored to be named to the List of Instructors Ranked as Excellent by their Students.

CEE 310- Transportation Engineering

I teach half of this course focused on facilities in transportation engineering. I cover pavement design, pavement structures, surface materials, subgrade soils, and aggregates, as well as give an overview of the transportation engineering profession.

This course was a project-based course where students learned SolidWorks CAD software, as well as engineering graphics, through a reverse engineering term project performed in groups.
